SOC2 for startups

The technical half of SOC2, handled

SOC2 is the most common reason teams come to us. We implement and operate the infrastructure and development controls it requires on your own cloud and keep them audit-ready, so you’re not starting from scratch when the auditor shows up.

Who this is for

Startup engineering teams of roughly 5 to 40 developers who need SOC2, because an enterprise deal requires it or the board is asking, and don’t have a platform or DevOps engineer to build the infrastructure side of it.

A compliance firm or compliance automation tool will tell you which controls you need. It won’t build your infrastructure to meet them. That implementation gap is the part we close.

What we implement and operate

These controls are implemented by default on the infrastructure we run for you, in your own AWS, GCP, or Azure accounts:

  • Encryption. Data encrypted in transit and at rest across the infrastructure we operate.
  • Access management. Who can reach which environment is defined in code and reviewable, not granted ad hoc.
  • Secrets. Secrets are stored and injected through managed secret stores instead of living in repos or config files.
  • Logging. Infrastructure and deployment activity is logged so there is a record to show an auditor.
  • Audit trails. Infrastructure changes go through version control, so every change has an author, a review, and a history.

We also handle audit prep and evidence collection for the layers we operate.

What stays with you or your compliance firm

SOC2 covers more than infrastructure. Business-wide policies, frameworks, HR and vendor processes, and the audit itself belong to your team or your compliance firm. We don’t overlap with them. We complete the infrastructure and development controls they don’t implement.

Why a platform matters for compliance

We deliver through Nullstone, our dev platform. Every environment is built from the same codified definitions, so the controls are applied consistently instead of depending on someone remembering to configure them. Nullstone is itself SOC2-compliant, and we run on our own platform.

How it starts

The first call is a 30-minute listening call about your stack, your team, and your SOC2 timeline. Engagements are month-to-month, with no setup fee. See how pricing works or read how a seed-stage fintech team got SOC2-ready on GCP.
